The wait is over for fans of symphonic metal legends Nightwish! They have broken their silence regarding their highly anticipated 10th studio album, now revealed as “Yesterwynde,” set to release on Friday, September 20th via Nuclear Blast!

On March 11th, Nightwish and Nuclear Blast announced the renewal of their contract, specifying that it will be a multi-album agreement. This news alleviated fears that arose after the band announced their touring hiatus, reassuring fans that the band is not coming to an end.

Said of the renewal, Tuomas Holopainen states:

“20 years ago our journey together with Nuclear Blast started, and the time has now come to renew our vows. Superbly excited to see what kind of magic we can cook up together this time!”

Marcus Hammer states:

“It’s an honor to renew this partnership to continue writing music history. We´re more than proud to carry on the collaboration with this exceptionally gifted group of musicians and their management team. Thanks for your friendship and trust, Floor, Tuomas, Emppu, Troy, Kai and Jukkis. Looking forward to celebrate your upcoming album and everything beyond! Kiitos!”

The band also revealed that fans will get their first taste of this new chapter on Tuesday, May 21st, with the release of their first single “Perfume of the Timeless.”

In a recent interview with KERRANG!, it was asked –

The first single, ‘Perfume Of The Timeless’, is nearly 10 minutes long. Not exactly easing people in, are you?

“No! But, when we had the first meeting with Nuclear Blast, talking about the new album and singles, I told them, the first single will be a song called Perfume Of The Timeless, and it’s eight-and-a-half minutes long, and the chorus comes in at 3:30. And they were like, ‘Perfect!’ I think that has to do with the fact that we have a long legacy. You know, we can do whatever we want, and I do, but it says something that we can do that, when I heard that for Spotify it’s good to have the vocals start after 15 seconds, or people skip it, they don’t have the attention span anymore.”

Announce New Album “Yesterwynde”

Furthermore, NIGHTWISH announce the release of the album’s first single today. ‘Perfume Of The Timeless’ will mark the beginning of the band’s new era and will be released on May 21st.
