In a brief but seismic announcement, Arch Enemy have confirmed they’ve parted ways with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, closing a ten-year chapter that helped define the modern era of the band. Their message was short: gratitude for the music they created together, well-wishes for her future, and a quiet promise — “Wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.”

White-Gluz joined Arch Enemy in 2014, stepping into one of the most high-profile roles in melodic death metal. Over the decade that followed, she became a central pillar of the band’s identity. Her growl — unmistakable, sharpened, and commanding — helped propel Arch Enemy through some of their most visible years, from global touring cycles to major festival appearances.
With her at the helm, the band released multiple studio albums, each one sharpening their melodic ferocity while expanding their theatrical edge. Her versatility, both onstage and in the studio, pushed Arch Enemy’s sound into a more polished yet still aggressive direction. For many in the fanbase, she became the definitive modern voice of the band.

White-Gluz’s final stretch with Arch Enemy wasn’t without turbulence. In 2024, health issues forced the band to perform without her during part of a Mexican tour. She later described the ordeal as one of the most painful experiences of her life, the result of a severe infection that affected her ears, throat, and facial nerves. Recovery was slow, and although she returned to performing, it marked a difficult moment in an otherwise relentless decade.

Alissa White‑Gluz also released her own statement confirming that after 12 years at the forefront of Arch Enemy, she and the band have parted ways. She thanked the “thousands of amazing fans” — her Beastlings — who’ve supported her through years of tours, albums, and unforgettable performances. She also teased new projects and “big surprises” coming in 2026, giving fans a glimpse of what’s next while closing a fiercely influential chapter in the band’s history.
Arch Enemy’s parting message strongly implies a regrouping and reboot coming in 2026. Whether that means a new vocalist, a reworked lineup, or a fresh musical direction, the band seems intent on returning with purpose.
As for White-Gluz, her next chapter is unknown, but with her talent, reputation, and following, her future in heavy music is wide open.
