GRAMMY® Award-winning rock titans Evanescence have officially entered a striking new chapter with their latest single, Who Will You Follow, a brooding, explosive anthem that signals a confident evolution for the band while staying rooted in their cinematic rock identity.

You can check out the lyric video HERE!

The track arrives as the lead preview of their forthcoming album Sanctuary, set for release June 5, and it immediately feels like a statement piece rather than just a comeback single. Co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini (Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox, YUNGBLUD) and Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, Architects, House of Protection), the song merges modern alternative heaviness with Evanescence’s unmistakable melodic drama.

From its opening tension to its towering chorus, Who Will You Follow feels like Evanescence fully stepping into the sonic language of today’s heavy music landscape without losing their identity. It’s sharp, emotional, and unapologetically huge—and arguably their strongest lead single since The Open Door era.

The upcoming album Sanctuary continues that duality, blending production work from Cervini and Fish with contributions from legendary producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Korn, Rush). The record will be available in multiple formats including digital, standard CD, deluxe CD, a limited-edition box set, and a double vinyl pressing arriving September 4.

Amy Lee reflects on the long creative process behind the album with heartfelt intensity:

“This album is over three years in the making, and finally listening back to it all at once, about to release it to the world, I am so damn proud of every second of it. It’s overwhelming. Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection… good thing we have the tour all lined up or I wouldn’t know what to do with myself now! I’ve been completely obsessed. I’m dying for the fans to hear this.”

That sense of emotional release and creative urgency bleeds directly into the band’s current era, which has already seen massive momentum. Recent singles “Afterlife” and “Fight Like A Girl” (feat. K.Flay) have been met with critical acclaim and chart dominance, with “Afterlife” reaching No. 1 on both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and Mediabase’s Active Rock Radio chart in the U.S. and Canada.

Evanescence’s resurgence over the past year has been nothing short of historic. Their collaboration “End of You” with Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante became Revolver’s Song of the Year and marked the first all-female collaboration to top U.S. Rock Radio. Meanwhile, their legacy continues to loom large, with Fallen still standing as one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century with over 17 million copies sold worldwide.

Now, with Sanctuary, Evanescence appear poised to bridge eras—reclaiming their early 2000s dominance while fully integrating into the modern heavy and alternative landscape.

ABOUT EVANESCENCE

Emerging in 2003, Evanescence reshaped the rock landscape with Fallen, a cinematic fusion of rock, metal, symphonic, and piano-driven intensity led by Amy Lee. The album became a global phenomenon, earning multiple GRAMMY® Awards and selling over 17 million copies worldwide. Its defining singles, including “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal,” helped shape an era of alternative music and remain cultural touchstones.

Over two decades later, Evanescence continue to evolve while maintaining their signature emotional weight and sonic identity. Following The Open Door, Evanescence, and The Bitter Truth, the band now enters what may be their most ambitious era yet.

Now entering a bold new era, Evanescence continues to push boundaries. 2025 was a landmark year for Amy Lee and Evanescence. The release of last year’s global phenomenon “Afterlife,” from the Netflix series Devil May Cry, became the fastest-rising track of their career and the band’s biggest single since their first album, amassing over 150 million streams globally and reaching #1 on the US Rock Radio Chart, a first at the format for Evanescence. Followed by the release of “End of You,” a collaboration between Evanescence’s Amy Lee, Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante, the song was named Revolver’s Song of the Year. Also reaching #1 at US Rock Radio, “End Of You” made history in the US by becoming the first all-female collaboration to do so. Their highly anticipated single, Who Will You Follow, was co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, and will appear on the forthcoming album Sanctuary, further signaling an exciting new chapter for the band as they continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
