The hard-hitting rock trio enters a new era with a raw, high-energy first taste of its highly anticipated sophomore album, arriving September 18 via Pavement Entertainment.

Plush is back, and they aren’t easing their way into the next chapter.

Today, August 14, the hard-rock trio unleashes Animalistic, the first single and first look at their forthcoming sophomore album, Mass Hysteria, due September 18 via Pavement Entertainment. Driven by heavy riffs, relentless energy, and an unapologetically raw edge, the track immediately makes one thing clear: this is a band you shouldn’t be sleeping on.

Now comprised of Moriah Formica (vocals/guitar), Ashley Suppa (bass), and Faith Powell (drums), Plush enters this next chapter with an impressive résumé already behind them. The band has landed four songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart—“Hate,” “Better Off Alone,” “Left Behind,” and “Run”—while building its reputation on the road alongside some of rock’s biggest names, including Disturbed, KISS, Alice in Chains, Evanescence, Daughtry, Halestorm, Seether, Sevendust, Mammoth WVH, and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators.

But Plush’s connection with Disturbed goes considerably deeper than simply sharing a stage.

In June 2025, Plush released Why, a powerful collaboration between Formica and Disturbed frontman David Draiman. The track was co-written by Draiman and Formica and co-produced by Draiman, Johnny K, and Formica, giving Plush another opportunity to work alongside some of the creative forces who helped shape modern hard rock. Formica described the experience of writing with Draiman as an amazing one, while noting the familiar energy created by working with Johnny K, who played a significant role in launching both Disturbed and Plush.

That collaboration now sits nicely within the larger evolution of Plush—a band that has continued to grow beyond its early introduction to the rock world and establish itself on its own terms.

And with Animalistic, that evolution takes another step forward.

Written by Formica alongside Blair Daly and Zac Maloy and produced by Kile O’Dell and Formica, the new single dives headfirst into the concept of internal warfare. Plush describes the track as an exploration of the rage that exists within all of us and the necessity of confronting that instinct rather than running from it.

There is a visceral quality to Animalistic that makes it feel less like a cautious introduction to a new album and more like a declaration of intent. The riffs hit hard, the rhythm section carries serious weight, and Formica’s vocals cut through the track with the kind of force that has become central to Plush’s identity.

The single also establishes the thematic foundation for Mass Hysteria. According to the band, the album confronts the darkest and most volatile aspects of ourselves while ultimately focusing on resilience—the scars left behind after surviving the chaos and the personal battle required to keep moving forward.

That makes Mass Hysteria more than simply the band’s second full-length record. It represents the next stage of a trajectory that has already taken Plush from emerging artists to Billboard-charting performers capable of holding their own alongside some of the biggest acts in rock.

And they’re not waiting until September to bring that new material to the stage.

The band has the chart numbers. They’ve shared stages with rock/metal heavyweights. They’ve worked directly with artists like David Draiman. They’ve built an audience through relentless touring.

Now they’re turning the page.

Animalistic is the first glimpse of what comes next—and if this raw, high-energy track is any indication, Mass Hysteria could be the record that takes Plush to an entirely different level.
