Albany’s hard rock powerhouse brings its story to New York television following a new album, major touring opportunities, and years of building its place in modern rock.
PLUSH is a band that has spent the past several years proving it belongs in that conversation. From sharing stages with some of the biggest names in rock to earning Billboard Mainstream Rock chart placements and pushing its sound into heavier territory, the Albany, New York-based trio has continued to build a career that extends well beyond its hometown roots.
Now, PLUSH is preparing to reach an even wider audience through an upcoming feature interview recorded inside the main studio at Fox 5 NY.
The band recently visited the station for the larger interview, with a shorter, separate conversation recorded in one of the network’s greenrooms serving as a teaser for the upcoming feature. That brief segment aired tonight on Fox 5 Newsroom Live, offering viewers an early glimpse of the band ahead of the main interview’s anticipated release in the coming weeks.
Ethereal Metal had the opportunity to be there covering the interview, following a connection between PLUSH and Joe, a Fox 5 NY producer, director, editor and interviewer. We’re grateful to Joe and the Fox 5 NY team for welcoming us to cover the experience and granting permission to share the teaser segment with our audience.
While the main studio interview is still to come, the timing of the appearance is particularly exciting. PLUSH has just entered a new chapter with the release of its latest album, Mass Hysteria, and the band continues to build on years of touring, chart success, and opportunities to share stages with some of rock’s biggest names.
From Albany to Stages Alongside Rock’s Biggest Names
PLUSH consists of Moriah Formica on vocals and guitar, Ashley Suppa on bass, and Faith Powell on drums. Together, the trio has developed a sound built around powerful vocals, muscular guitar work, hard-hitting rhythms, and choruses that can stand alongside the biggest names in contemporary hard rock.
The band’s résumé is already substantial. PLUSH has earned four Billboard Mainstream Rock chart placements with “Hate,” “Better Off Alone,” “Left Behind,” and “Run.” Along the way, the group has toured and performed alongside established artists including Disturbed, Evanescence, KISS, Alice in Chains, Daughtry, Halestorm, Seether, Sevendust, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, and The Offspring, among others.
Those opportunities have put PLUSH in front of audiences across the United States and beyond, allowing the band to develop its live presence while sharing stages with artists who helped shape generations of rock fans.

For a band continuing to establish its identity in an increasingly crowded rock landscape, that experience matters. Supporting established headliners means winning over audiences who may have come primarily to see someone else. It also means learning how to command a stage, deliver a memorable performance, and make an impression that lasts beyond a single set.
Ethereal Metal has followed PLUSH at several points in its journey, including photographing the band opening for Evanescence in 2023 and covering the group again at The Ellis in Newburgh, New York, in August 2026. That coverage has provided an opportunity to see the band’s development while documenting its latest musical chapter.
Mass Hysteria Marks a Heavier New Chapter
Released September 18, 2026, through Pavement Entertainment, Mass Hysteria marks a bold new chapter for PLUSH. Following the band’s self-titled 2021 debut, the new record embraces darker emotional territory, heavier instrumentation, and a more confrontational musical edge.
The album arrived following the release of “Animalistic,” a single that introduced listeners to the direction of the new material. The song explores the internal conflict and rage that can exist beneath the surface, establishing a thematic foundation for a record concerned with confronting difficult emotions rather than simply burying them.
That intensity is reflected throughout the music. The guitars hit harder, the breakdowns carry greater weight, and the band’s melodic instincts are matched by a more aggressive approach to its arrangements. PLUSH has not abandoned the hooks that helped establish its identity; instead, the band is pushing those strengths into heavier territory.
In our recent Mass Hysteria review, Ethereal Metal described the album this way:
“Mass Hysteria is PLUSH at their heaviest, most rage-filled, and most unapologetically aggressive — a record that doesn’t ask permission before kicking the door in.”
It is a fitting description of a band willing to challenge itself and take its sound somewhere more intense without losing the qualities that first drew listeners in.
Our recent coverage has included the album review, coverage surrounding “Animalistic,” and live photography and interview coverage in Newburgh. With Mass Hysteria now out in the world, the upcoming Fox 5 feature arrives at an exciting moment for the group.
A Teaser Tonight, a Bigger Conversation Ahead
The short greenroom segment that aired tonight was only a preview of what is to come. The main interview was recorded in the Fox 5 NY studio as a larger feature, giving the band an opportunity to share more of its story with the station’s audience.
For viewers who have followed PLUSH from its earlier releases, the upcoming conversation offers another chance to catch up with the band. For those discovering the group for the first time, it presents an opportunity to learn more about the musicians behind the name and the record that represents their latest evolution.
There is something fitting about seeing an Albany-based band appear on a major New York television platform. PLUSH has spent years taking its music to stages around the country, and opportunities like this help bring that journey to a broader regional audience.
With its new album pushing into heavier territory and a résumé that includes performances alongside some of rock’s most recognizable acts, PLUSH has plenty to talk about. The teaser has aired, but the main conversation is still ahead.
Ethereal Metal looks forward to sharing more as the feature becomes available.
In the meantime, Mass Hysteria is out now. If PLUSH isn’t already on your radar, this is an excellent time to discover what the band has been building.
PLUSH’s story continues, and the upcoming Fox 5 NY feature is another opportunity for more people to hear it.
