Some quarantine fun with Elina Siirala of Leaves’ Eyes!
• What made you want to become a musician?
After building my own violin with a piece of wood, nails and rubber bands, it showed quite a strong interest towards starting lessons myself.
• What are some of your hobbies outside of music/career?
I love working out, going to the gym and then balancing it out with another favourite thing in life….eating!
• If you had to be anyone else for a day, who would that be and why?
I would be an otter, so I would finally know how to float, juggle and dive with my eyes open, without holding my nose
• What is your favourite animal?
I love all animals and wanted to even be a veterinarian when I was a kid
• Are you an Herbivore, Carnivore, or Omnivore?
I eat everything, but can easily go weeks without any meat
• A new law has passed where only one genre of music is allowed, which would you choose? (It is totally alright if you choose Disney music! No judgment here.)
It would either be 80’s rock….the proper stadium rock that I will never get enough of…or classical music
• What is your favourite country?
This is a difficult one because i love many countries for very different reasons. I love the nature in my home country Finland and for example the beautiful beaches and ocean in Thailand
• What foods do you love to devour?
When I have my ¨candy day¨, I love having pizza or burgers and then some chocolate, ice cream and Finnish candy
• Apple or Android?
Literally both as I use Apple for composing and Android for my phone
• Where are you from?
From Finland, Helsinki, but I lived in London since 2008 and moved to Germany in 2018
• What was your favourite possession as a child?
My partner in crime for 13 years, our Golden Retriever Emma
• What is your favourite possession now?
My voice and compositions
• What motto do you live by?
All the good energy, help and love for others will come back to you some day in some way and form. Oh…and don’t be an asshole! 
• Do you play video games? If so, what do you like playing the most?
I’m old school and love the simple games for commodore Amiga…especially Streets of Rage. There is a version for Xbox with all extra features and it’s fair to say my thumbs were hurting pretty bad from playing it for days with my friend.
• Any particular soundtrack you would recommend to people?
If you like synth music with 80’s vibe, the original Transformers Movies soundtracks are great (by Vince DiCola) and of course the classics, like Karate Kid and Rocky
• You are now stuck on an island with only one item (cannot be phone.) What is the item you choose?
Piano, so I could play and sing….and maybe someone would hear me and come to rescue 
• What is your favourite colour?
According to my wardrobe it’s definitely black
• You can bring one famous figure from our past back to life, who do you choose and why?
Always Freddie Mercury…
• Any embarrassing moments to tell?
Life is filled with embarrassing moments and should be…what’s the fun otherwise. One time I was getting super frustrated at one show with Angel Nation as my in ears weren’t working. The monitor guy tried everything to get the signal to me and my band mates were also trying to help, but the sound was just terrible. At the end i noticed I forgot to put the antenna in the transmitter…
• Were you a good student or a class clown in school?
Only the very closest people to me get to know certain sides of my personality….weird, cuckoo and silly are a few nicknames to mention But of course I was always a good girl in school
• Ocean or Mountains?
Both! Need the balance
• If you had to play in a film, what kind of part would you want to play?
I would definitely be an animal character in a Disney animation or an action character like Indiana Jones
